The Logistics of Service Excellence
Unlike local moves, long-distance moving demands robust coordination, including fuel management, vehicle tracking, and sometimes interim storage solutions. Movers must also account for potential delays such as weather, traffic, and road conditions. Insurance coverage and clear communication with clients throughout the process are critical to maintaining trust and ensuring a successful relocation.
Providing Value-Added Services- CFF will enter into a strategic alliance agreement with our related Nigerian based
company Coastwise Limited, which my family continues to own and manage. This strategic alliance which allow us to offer
Canadian companies exporting to Nigeria a comprehensive range of customized door to door services, which will
compare favourably to other companies offering freight forwarding to Nigeria. For example, our value-added services will
include export management, customs compliance and clearing, and access to Coastwise Limited’s Custom Bonded
Terminal in Nigeria.
Enhanced Business Development Strategy - We believe that our existing relationships with importers of automobiles,
spare parts and equipment in Nigeria, and our experience in automobile custom clearance procedures in the country, will
allow us to proactively market CFF’s cost and administrative advantages over other alternatives to import Canadian
sourced goods to Nigeria.
Technology Enabled Services- We intend to offer a variety of technology-enabled freight forwarding services. These will
include offering our customers the ability to obtain real-time quotes, make bookings, and track their shipments via our
online systems. We believe our use of industry-leading cloud-based Freight management technologies, will allow us to
improve our client’s overall customer service experience and pass on cost savings to our customers which will help us
gain and retain customers.
Why Our Strategic Focus On Nigeria
With over 186 million inhabitants, the world’s 20th largest economy and Nigeria’s projected status as the world’s third most
populous countries by 2050. Nigeria is among the world’s most promising emerging markets for exporters, yet one which
requires exporters to navigate several challenging administrative and infrastructure factors, which has historically
adversely impacted bi-lateral trade levels. As such, we do believe that our experience in export and import handling in
Nigeria, provides us with a unique opportunity to position CFF as one of Ontario’s leading freight forwarders specializing
in Nigerian and African focused transportation and logistics services.
We do believe that our specialization, will provide us with a unique opportunity to gain market share in what we believe is
an underserved segment of the shipping market, that has the potential to grow significantly in its importance to Canadian
exporters. Some of the factors that have led us to have a niche market focus on Canada to Nigeria freight forwarding
solutions are the following:
(i) Nigeria since 2014, has become Canada’s largest bilateral trading partner in Africa.
(ii) Nigeria is one of Canada’s fastest growing markets for agriculture, and automobile exports
(iii) Canadian exports to Nigeria in 2018 was approximately $467 million, providing CFF with a relatively large market to
participate and seek to dominate.
(iv) Nigeria has emerged as Canada’s second largest market after China, for automobile exports
(v) Approximately 27% of Canada’s total annual exports to Nigeria are Ontario produced goods
(vi) The Canadian and Nigerian governments have indicated their interest in concluding the ratification of a bilateral trade
agreement, which would further help stimulate trade between Canada and Nigeria.
Given our specialized knowledge and experience providing shipping and import and export handling service in Nigeria,
and the growing level of trade between Canada and Nigeria, particularly as it relates to Ontario based exports, we do
believe that market conditions are providing us with a unique opportunity o grow our business and to successfully
achieve our key objectives and milestones.
